Acne Products - What Are My Thoughts On Them?

I'm often asked: "Which acne products and treatment methods are the best, and is there an ultimate cure against acne?" That is a common question nowadays, since 80% of people with ages ranging between fourteen and eighty suffer from acne.

But let's start with the second part of the question: is there an ultimate cure? The short answer is no! Before treating a patient for skin diseases, dermatologists need to know his medical record. In some cases, a person might be allergic to some form of treatment (or he may have some other problem).

Now let's discuss the first part: "which acne products and treatment methods are the best?" Well, let's start with the most common product that can help against this skin disease - acne soap. This product is particularly popular among people since it is cheap and, in fact, very effective.

Acne soaps come in two forms: classic bar shape and liquid. It doesn't matter which form you like more, but, personally, I prefer the liquid one because it is easier to apply it on the affected area. Cleansers are used to remove dirt and oil from the surface. But please remember that you will have to clean you acne affected skin area multiple times, as it is not a one-step procedure. These soaps' main purpose is to decrease the acne.

Also, what I noticed is that people - especially teens - tend to overuse these soaps (as well as other acne treatments), which can easily lead to skin irritations. If you want to remove acne immediately - sorry, this is not how it works.

Before buying a product, you need to consult your local dermatologist about the type of your skin. Oily or dry skins require different approaches and products; otherwise you can make matters worse. People who have dry skin need to make sure that they use gentle soaps and cleansers.

If you have a sensitive skin, avoid products that require aggressive washing or scrubbing. Instead, look for liquid or gentle soaps and cleansers.

As you can see, there are a lot of things you need to keep in mind before deciding on a treatment method. Actually, that's not quite right: your job is to contact your local dermatologist who will do the thinking for you. Make sure that you understand why your doctors chose this or that treatment procedure and just stick with it. Unless he is completely incompetent, you will get rid of your acne fast!

  1. You're right, it's decisive to consult a qualified person before choosing an anti acne treatment....there are many treatments designed to fight this ugly affection but only a few prove to be effective and that's why we have to be careful when choosing ours.

My dermatologist suggested me a skin resurfacing Toronto treatment called Fraxel to remove acne scars. I can't say I was very sure that's the right decision but I followed his advice and surprise: it worked...conclusion: never doubt the recommendation of a qualified doctor.
