How to Prevent Acne From Getting the Best of You

Introduction

So you got acne, how are going to keep it from getting the best of you? Well there are certain things you can do to make it a non issue for you. Here is how you can do it.

Reduce And Cover-Up

Once you develop acne, one of the first things you think of is how to cover it up and how to prevent it from coming back. Well if these are your thoughts, then you have already on your way to not let acne get the best of you.

To start with, you are not alone. Close to 50 million people in the United States, mainly teenagers, will develop acne sometime this year. So you see, you have plenty of company.

If you have acne, the first thing you want to do is get rid of it, but do not touch the acne or pop or squeeze them because it will simply spread the infection and could leave scars on your face. To reduce the size and redness of acne, use some Visine.

Put some Visine on a cotton swab and then dab it on the pimple. Let it dry and then you can cover it up with make-up or a spot acne cream. The swelling and redness should start to go away and be gone in less than a week.

Next Steps

Once you have taken those first initial steps to address the acne you currently have, then it is time to address acne permanently, to prevent it from taking the best of you in the future.

Cleanse your face twice a day with a cleanser that is designed for your face and focuses on preventing acne.Exfoliating should be performed once or twice a week to remove the dead skin and bacteria from your face.Moisturizing your face with emphasis on the dry areas. This moisturizer should also have a sunscreen to prevent premature aging of your skin.

Final Steps

By doing these steps you should be able to stop out breaks of acne. But every now and then you may see one or two pimples erupt. If you do see this, do not panic, take the steps outlined in Reduce and Cover Up and address each individual pimple on a case-by-case basis.

By doing these two steps, addressing each individual pimple on a case-by-case basis, and treating it before it becomes a problem, you can get rid of pimples and prevent them from coming back so they will not get best of you.

Cystic Acne Home Treatment Options

Acne sufferers have a few possible options for cystic acne home treatment. This particular skin problem results from a bacterial infection in the skin pores. Tiny pieces of dead skin mix with excess oil and clog the pores, creating a perfect environment for bacterial growth. Deeper acne is one of the worst forms of acne because it can be quite painful and can also lead to unsightly scarring. Topical medications are available over the counter, although a few different home remedies can help as well.

Home remedies can be good options for acne sufferers who are sensitive to the chemicals in these medicines. Making home remedies for acne can also be a more cost-effective option since over the counter medicines are an added expense. Some of these pimple-fighting medicines can also lose their effectiveness as the body adjusts to them. The following treatments are considered both effective and inexpensive:

1. Fresh potatoes are possible remedies that can help reduce the excess sebum. Potato juice can be obtained by peeling and grating a potato and squeezing out this liquid. Applying this juice to acne lesions for about 15 minutes will decrease the swelling and redness as well. The potato juice can then be washed off with warm water and a mild cleanser. This treatment works best when applied every other day before bed, and it should lead to the disappearance of cystic acne lesions after a few weeks.

2. Some acne sufferers also see improvements from using neem leaves. These leaves come from a plant that is often used in different types of Eastern medicine. Crushed neem leaves are mixed with a small measure of turmeric powder and formed into a paste to be applied to acne patches. The medicinal properties of this mixture will help to clear away both excess oil and harmful bacteria.

3. Simple changes in diet can make a difference in acne severity. Many foods with artificial ingredients, dyes, and preservatives can contribute to acne problems in some people with sensitivities to these kinds of additives. Blemishes can occur when the body attempts to push out these types of toxins through the skin pores. Contrary to some popular beliefs, there is little scientific evidence that certain foods such as chocolate will cause acne in every individual.

4. Egg whites are another topical remedy for cystic acne blemishes. Whites applied to pimples will draw out impurities and prevent further bacterial growth. Milk of magnesia is another option for an easy anti-acne face mask. Peppermint and lavender oil added to boiled water can also make an effective steam bath that will open up clogged pores. These oils also have bacteria-fighting properties that can prevent further blemishes from forming.

5. Pieces of raw potato can help soothe existing blemishes when rubbed over patches of acne. The results include faster healing times and less swelling or redness. This type of natural astringent can also help to reduce the appearance of acne scars.

6. Oatmeal face masks are one of the easiest options for a cystic acne home treatment. Cooked oatmeal can be cooled off in the refrigerator before applying it to the face. Another method is to mix raw oats with cool water and create a paste out of this mixture. Each of these oatmeal masks should be left to dry for about 30 minutes before washing it off with warm water. Oatmeal naturally dries out the extra oil in the skin and also acts as a good exfoliation mask for removing dead skin cells.

What Do We Know About The Best Natural Acne Treatment?

Natural acne treatment is one of the best ways to safely and effectively remove acne from the skin. I mean, who did not have to encounter this very dreadful skin disease at one point in their life? Acne is usually found on the upper body, neck and face, and they are caused by the increase of hormones or/and bacterial infections of the epidermis.

If you ever had biology in school, then you will know that our body disposes of wastes and toxins through sweat pores. For this reason we need to take care of our skin. But not only that: having acne on your skin can make you miserable. Nowadays everyone is obsessed with their appearance, and if they see a pimple on their face they freak out.

I've tried a lot of stuff that was promoted on TV and the Internet, but nothing has really worked. In some cases, it made matters even worse. I remember one medication left painful rashes on my skin, and at that point I believed that someone from "above" was punishing me.

But then I read an interesting article that suggested some excellent tips on how to prevent acne from appearing again and how to treat the ones you already have. Here are a few of my favorite methods:

1) Unless your dermatologist prescribed them to you, get rid of all ingested drugs you are using to treat acne. There is no need to poison your body even more.

2) Make some changes in your diet. I recommend you eat more raw and cooked root fruits and root veggies. Also, make sure you avoid eating too many fats, because they cause your body to produce excessive amounts of oil.

3) Change your pillowcase daily. Because at night you tend to sweat, it creates a perfect environment for acne bacteria to grow.

4) Massage your face daily. It wouldn't be a good idea to write down how to do that, so that's why I recommend you go on YouTube and type in "face massaging" or "face massage" and see how the pros do it.

5) Take some time to exercise. Not only will it make you look better, but since you will be sweating, your body will get rid of all toxins and wastes.

6) Drink lots of water. Water is an awesome way to detoxify the skin, because it is a) natural b) free.

Consume about 7-12 glasses a day, and you will see the positive effects that it will bring.

Stop Acne Dead In Its Tracks With These Acne Prevention Tips

Introduction

So you want to stop your acne dead in its tracks? Well there are several ways you can prevent acne. First let us understand how it starts and then you can understand how to stop it.

The Cause Of Acne

The cause of acne is not fully understood, but what your body needs to create an acne breakout is known. What is known is that acne breakouts occur because of a hormone imbalance in your body. This is evident because most of the 50 million cases of acne occur with teenagers going through puberty when their hormones are out of whack.

When this happens, the skin starts to secrete large amounts of body sebum (oil). The sebum then clumps together the body's dead skin that clogs the pores, trapping bacteria in the pores. The bacterium then begins to grow and the body's immune system responds by attacking the growing bacteria.

Stopping Acne In Its Tracks

As you can see, the root cause of acne breakout can be pointed to an imbalance of hormones producing excess amounts of sebum. There are several ways you can control the amount of sebum your body produces to prevent clogging of your pores:

Cleanse the affected parts of the face twice a day. Cleansing more than twice a day is discouraged because it can trigger the body to create more sebum defeating your original intent on reducing the amount of sebum. The area to focus on to reduce the amount of sebum is the "T" zone, which are the forehead, nose and chin. This area produces more oil than the rest of your face.
Periodically throughout the day rub your face with oil-controlling cleansing pads. This will help to remove the excess amount of oil on your face.
Avoid touching your face with your hands. Touching your face will transfer oil from your hands to your face allowing for more oil to build- up.
You should also keep your hair cut short to prevent the oil in your hair from getting on your face.

Besides keeping your oil off your face, you can also stop acme by removing the dead skin and bacteria from your face. Cleansing helps in removing dead skin and bacteria from your face, but to further improve your removal of these two items is to exfoliate your face once or twice a week.

Not only will exfoliating remove the bacteria and dead skin, but also it will expose fresh skin making your face look fresher and younger.

Conclusion

To stop acne dead in its tracks you need to control the excess sebum your face is excreting. The best ways is to cleanse your skin twice a day, use oil-cleansing pads, keep your hands away from your face and keep your hair cut short. Also exfoliate your face to remove dead skin and bacteria once or twice a week.

By performing the above actions, you can stop pimples before they get the best of you.

Ways To Clear Acne Using Baking Soda

As far as home remedy ways to clear acne, sodium bicarbonate, or baking soda as we typically call it, is by far my all time favorite. Baking soda has so many benefits to skin care and fighting acne that one can write an entire site upon it! First of all, the stuff is cheap! This day and age saving any kind of money is a good thing! Secondly, the grains are extremely small and are very smooth and round. This makes it an excellent exfoliate for getting out the fat and clearing clogged pores. Baking soda also does a great job at getting rid of the dead skin around acne and that gives bacteria a lot less to feed upon. Finally, sodium bicarbonate won't over dry your skin. While we want our skin to be dry and oil free it can't be too dry or else the body will work overtime to produce even more oil that we have to fight off.

The beauty of baking soda is there are several great ways to clear acne using it!

Sodium Bicarbonate as a Spray/Toner - Sprays or toners are used after washing your face as an added guard against acne. As with all natural remedies you are going to want to try this on a small part of your face for the first time to make double sure that you are not allergic to your toner. Begin by adding one to two tablespoons of baking soda to a standard spray bottle. Close and shake the bottle for a bit until you're sure the baking soda is completely dissolved. Wash and pat dry your face and then spritz a bit onto your face and allow it to dry. There's no need to wash it off and its invisible, however being self conscience as I am, I used this before I went to bed. I had no problems leaving it on all night.

Sodium Bicarbonate Face Mask - This not only helps unclog and exfoliate your skin, but it feels good too! Mix baking soda and a small amount of warm to hot water together until you get a nice thick paste and spread it evenly over your face. Leave it on for about twenty minutes after it completely dries and then wash and pat dry your face. Sodium bicarbonate facial mask have been used since baking soda has been popular and its price makes this one of my favorite mask solutions.

Sodium Bicarbonate as a Facial Cleanser - Using baking soda as a facial cleanser isn't much different than making the facial mask. This time you'll want to mix enough warm water and baking soda together until you get a facial cleaner like consistency and then proceed to use the mix on your face. Rub it in softly, and let the small texture of the mixture exfoliate your skin. After lightly rubbing and massaging your face for 2-3 minutes with the mixture, rinse and pat dry. Baking soda won't over dry your skin so further cleansing is not necessary.

Whether or not you use this method or any method, the most important thing to keep in mind is that you've got to stick to the plan. Most folks give up on treatment way too early thinking that because they don't see any improvement overnight that their problem isn't getting any better. With any acne treatment make sure you give it a good week or two before really looking into how effective your method of treatment is.

Using baking soda as a facial cleanser is great but using it with tree oil as a way to clear acne is even better!
